Delicious and cheap: gyros in Siófok
Outing to Siófok
Although this place is not in Zamárdi, if you happen to be around, don’t miss Mustafa Restaurant in Siófok! Walk along the Sió Canal to the harbor, and just before the shore, you’ll find it on the left.
The selection at the sit-down restaurant satisfies every craving; it’s incredibly delicious, and the service is top-notch. However, I want to tell you about its street food section that opens onto the street, where you can get fantastic oven-baked gyros.
Healthy, delicious, and hearty
Gyros meat in fresh homemade bread, plenty of salad with olives and large chunks of cheese, all drizzled with an unbeatable sauce – plus the spice if you ask for it. All of this for 1,590 HUF in the autumn of 2023, which is a great deal, especially by Lake Balaton.
Even though you’ll receive the goodness in a practical paper holder, it’s worth walking to a quieter spot in the harbor, the Rose Garden or Jókai Park, sitting on a bench, leaning forward, and eating, as gyros tends to be a bit messy…
You can also get a drink to go with it, and if you can handle (unlike us), indulge in a piece of baklava!
Year-round street food
It’s essential to note that Mustafa Restaurant is open year-round, so you can count on it even outside the tourist season.
